Dreamy Park Maternity Session in Southern Colorado
Kelsey Boulware

Some sessions feel especially meant-to-be, and Ashley’s maternity session was exactly that. The weather earlier in the day was truly wild—dark clouds rolling in, thunder echoing across Colorado Springs, and rain threatening to cancel our plans. We stayed hopeful, and just as we arrived at our location, the storm cleared completely after a complete downpour. The air felt fresh, the light turned soft and golden, and everything settled into the most serene backdrop for her maternity portraits. Colorado has a way of surprising you, and this evening was a perfect reminder.
Ashley herself was an absolute dream to photograph. She was kind, calm, and radiated such a gentle joy that made every image feel effortless. Wearing a soft, neutral dress that flowed beautifully in the breeze, she leaned into the moment—hands resting over her growing belly, soaking in this fleeting season of pregnancy. These are the kinds of sessions I love most: quiet, emotional, and timeless, where nothing feels rushed and every frame tells a story.
This Colorado Springs maternity session was about more than just beautiful images—it was about honoring a chapter of life that passes all too quickly. From the clearing skies to Ashley’s warm, gracious spirit, everything aligned perfectly. I’m so grateful she trusted me to capture this season for her, and I can’t wait for her to look back on these photos and remember not the storm, but the calm that followed. Sessions like this are why I love maternity photography—each one is unique, meaningful, and filled with anticipation for what’s to come.
